In the lecture today i found out what I've been doing for a lot of my life, Visual Research. I've always been noting down artists, scribbling down ideas on notepads, putting together mood boards and mind maps. This has been such an integral part to my creative process in projects and today reminded me how important it is. Without visual research i wouldn't have found some of my favourite artists today.
I found one of my favourite artists Cathy McMurray (visit her webpage here) through researching artwork on natural materials.
I'd definitely advise anyone who has a few spare minutes to just go on sites such as Pinterest, weheartit, tumblr, istagram etc and just browse new material, you never know what you may find and you may just stumble across a complete diamond.
